Dale Hammaker took advantage of a second chance and claimed the checkered flag in the 20-lap "358" sprint car feature.

Hammaker, who was handicapped to the pole after not qualifying the first time the 358 sprints appeared at Lincoln, took the lead at the outset and paced the field for the first 12 laps. But when he went to the outside to get around pesky lapped traffic, sixth-starting Todd Rittenhouse, Jr. stayed with the lapped traffic drove under Hammaker for the lead exiting turn four of lap 13. Rittenhouse paced the field for the next five laps before Hammaker drove up beside Rittenhouse as the two entered turn one. That’s when the two leaders tapped wheels and Rittenhouse lost the handle, spinning into the inside guardrail in turns one and two. Rittenhouse went to the back and dropped from the field late.

Hammaker never gave up the bottom after that, and cruised to the win over second-starting Bob Anderson, with eighth-starting Scott Geesey third, 10^th-starting Brian Eichelberger fourth, and ninth-starting Gerard McIntyre, Jr. fifth. Completing the top ten were 14^th-starting Chad Criswell, 16^th-starting Nate Hammaker, Glenndon Forsythe, 19^th-starting Tim Wagaman, and Brad McClelland.

Heats for the 39 "358" Sprints were won by Dale Hammaker, Anderson, Geesey, and McIntyre. Twin consolations were won by Nathan Berwager and Billy Dietrich
