ROHRBAUGH CLAIMS FIRST OF THE YEAR IN TRAIL-WAY “358” SPRINTS; Hanover, PA (5/30/08) –He’s baaaack… Two-time defending Trail-Way track champ Jeff Rohrbaugh came from eighth starting spot to grab the lead from nephew Tim Wagaman on a 15th-lap restart and claim his first win of the year in the “358” sprint car feature at Trail-Way Speedway Friday night. “One of my crew members told me he’d have to draw me a map to get here,” quipped Rohrbaugh upon exiting his Roy Vincent Racing L&R Auto Body/Don Beard Racing Engines #7V in victory lane, “I bought this car from Tim last year. He might want it back.” Randy Davis, Jr. started on the pole and led the first eight laps before fifth-starting Wagaman grabbed the lead. Moments later, a disabled Billy Heltzel III collected Mike Duncan on the backstretch, resulting in a Duncan flip into the infield. Both drivers were uninjured but both cars were done for the night. On the restart, Wagman pulled away from Davis, and one lap later, Rohrbaugh took second. Rohrbaugh set his sights on the TWR #1 and pulled onto his back bumper when the caution came out for a collision involving Doug Hammaker and Craig Laudermilch on turn two of lap 15. Rohrbaugh drove under Wagaman for the race lead exiting turn two on the restart, and he quickly pulled away from the rest of the field. That’s when DS Diversified Services hard charger Billy Dietrich entered the picture, coming from his 12th-starting spot to take second from Wagaman on lap 16. Dietrich closed on Rohrbaugh as the two raced through lapped traffic over the final three laps, but could not make the pass. “They give them (lapped cars) the ‘move-over’ flag, but I race down in the infield anyway,” joked Rohrbaugh after scoring his tenth career Trail-Way win, “There are 15 cars here that could win any night, and I’m very happy to be here.” Dietrich maintained his points lead with the runner-up finish, followed by Wagaman, Danny Dietrich, and Brad McClelland, whose three-race winning streak came to an end. Sixth through tenth were Randy Whisler, Dale Hammaker, Joe Trone, Jr., Darren Schott, and Mike Ressler. Heats for the 18 “358” sprinters were won by Schott and Wagaman. 358 SPRINTS Feature (20 Laps) – 1. 7V-Jeff Rohrbaugh; 2. 8D-Billy Dietrich; 3. 1-Tim Wagaman; 4. 88-Danny Dietrich; 5. 6-Brad McClelland; 6. 64-Randy Whisler; 7. 66-Dale Hammaker; 8. 99-Joe Trone Jr.; 9. 55S-Darren Schott; 10. 38-Mike Ressler; 11. 10-Zach Shive Euculano; 12. 36-Peter Bartley; 13. 66H-Doug Hammaker; 14. 9-Craig Laudermilch; 15. 98-Randy Davis Jr. (DNF); 16. 28-Billy Heltzel Jr. (DNF); 17. 11D-Mike Duncan (DNF); 18.
